Kylie receives royal honour for helping rescue an abducted girl

For the last week a number of high profile figures have taken to the stage to lay wreaths and lay flowers to remember the 15-year-old teenager who was abducted on the night out in her hometown.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the editor of The American Patriot, wrote in The Atlantic magazine that Kylie, who has been identified only as K.D., was a "hero" among her peers and a "living legend among her friends.

She was a member of the local cheerleading squad and loved to play music when not at the school.

Kylie's uncle, John, described her as a sweet and caring girl who had been targeted by people because of her skin colour.

Kylie attended Waddington High School and went to the University of South Carolina. She is the only one of her friends to survive the attack.

As she left after her final test, she had told her family she was going to take her virginity.

As she was waiting for her parents to pick her up she told her mother she was going to take her virginity. The next day her mother told Kylie it had been her first time seeing someone in three years and said she had a boyfriend.

She told her mum: "I don't want to get it done, so they need to take me somewhere, they need to give me something to show them off. So I said: 'I am going to get you a man'."

It is understood she was taken by a male and, with her face covered, walked to her home.

At about 9am on the morning of Thursday, 16 May, Kylie was found with her neck twisted at neck level and two knife-sharp wounds to her head and chest.

Her body was discovered with bruises and abrasions. She had been sexually assaulted while still unconscious and there was a deep gash on her head.

Ms Waldo Emerson's interview with an American Patriot, published on Friday, recalled: "She's dead, she is on her way to heaven. She's a martyr."

The US publication quoted Kylie's uncle as saying: "This has been a dark, dark time for our family."

A statement said that the incident was investigated by police and the State Department's Foreign Terrorist Organizations Task Force.

A source within the police force confirmed: "The young lady's body is at the scene but no arrests have been made as of yet."

Detectives are looking at whether she was the victim of a gang-related attack.

Ms Waldo Emerson reported the death of "Kylie" the night of her 16t

Deadline looms for comment on ravensthorpe trucker's death

A federal investigation into the trucking company that operated the Ravensthorpe Roadhouse trucking complex has taken a new turn in recent weeks after some members of the trucking company's leadership appeared at a news conference at a rural Georgia county jail.

Federal investigators are investigating the death of John "Bud" Hensley, who worked as executive vice president of a company called Iron Trucking, a division of a Texas-based company called T-E-S Transport Inc. Iron Trucking's headquarters are in Iron Road, the last remaining rural county with a trucking operation.

The company has filed for bankruptcy protection two years after bankruptcy.

T-E-S Transport

T-E-S Transport's former president and CEO, Randy Taylor, made news recently when authorities in Florida discovered he was serving a life sentence for a murder he did not commit. He also was indicted on gun charges. A criminal complaint filed in Florida charged him with firing eight shots at two victims and leaving another dead during a burglary in his apartment in 2003.

Taylor was a member of Iron Road Trucking from 2002 until his indictment in Florida. His company was an arm of T-E-S Transport and had been listed on Iron Road's federal registration database as the owner of about 3,000 truck beds in Georgia, South Carolina and Louisiana, the complaint stated. The company's truck beds were used by hundreds of trucking companies including Iron Road.

It's understood that Iron Road was required to pay Iron Trucking $300,000 in restitution to a trucking company that it owned in 2008.

State and federal authorities also are looking into Taylor's arrest on a child sex abuse charge stemming from an incident in which he allegedly raped a child as an adult in 1999 and 2010. He was freed without parole in 2011 after serving nearly three years in prison.

In recent interviews, Hensley recalled that while he was at the company, he worked at some jobs and at other companies as a "sales manager" for T-E-S Transport.

"All this stuff, my truck beds, all this work, it's getting done all the time, and all that stuff is being sent to Texas, but everything is done with T-E-S," Hensley, now 79, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution from prison in 2007.

The company was founded in 1989 by a man named John W. "Hoos" Woodroof, a man who would later become the head of Iron Road. Woodroof, whose last name is not known in current court filings, said in 1998 that he was the son of Hensley.
